Kabander Keeshonds is a small kennel located about 25km north west of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. We live on a beautiful 5 acre property, with rolling hills and a superb variety of native wildlife. We are currently owned by 5 Keeshonds - one older boy of 10 years of age who has the run of the place ('Cracker' who was an excellent show dog in him prime), a young dog 'Magic' who is currently being successfully campaigned in Brisbane and around the country, two brood bitches 'Jemma' and 'Shari' (Pictured above - Aust Ch Grachthond Doya Believit), and my youngest a puppy bitch 'Pearl' whom we recently imported from New Zealand (her latest photo appears on our 'Puppies' page). I have been lucky enough to own and Breed Keeshonds for nearly 15 years, and I can truly thank my mother for the love that I have for this fabulous breed! I have been around show dogs from the time I can first remember, as my Mother had regular successes in the show scene in the UK with Rough Collies, then Shetland Sheepdogs, and now with her top winning Pomeranians under her UK Breeders Prefix (or kennel name) of 'Cabana'. She is located in Leicestershire in the UK, and it is she who took me to my very first Specialty Keeshond Club show in England when I was about 9 years of age. I have been hooked on Keeshonds ever since! Thanks Mum for such a wonderful experience! My Prefix 'Kabander' has been created in part from my Mothers Prefix 'Cabana', so our involvement in the dog world now spans not only two continents, but also across two generations ..... I have spent many years researching this wonderful breed, and am continually trying to improve on previous generations. I have dedicated my breeding program to the betterment of the breed, and have sourced some of the best bloodlines available worldwide from the UK, USA, Canada and now also from New Zealand. I do not breed very often, so each litter is very carefully planned. I always keep at least one puppy from each litter for show and breeding purposes, with the remaining puppies going to selected show or pet homes. I breed for Temperment, Beauty, Movement, and Type at all times.
